It is a characteristic symbol of Celtic christianity and is a combination of the christian cross and a heathen sun wheel. The inscrption in runes points to the Rune Ranja, that literally means impaler, or right to the goal. No matter how the figure is twisted, it will never kneel. Ogham characters have only been found on the British isles. A central vertical stem on which short stems were crossed to the right or to the left.
